File Compactor Care · Service & Maintenance
Regular inspection helps identify potential issues with the tracks, mobile bases, handles, mechanical components, and overall alignment before they interfere with daily operations.
If you notice any of these, stop using the system and have it inspected.
Six habits that keep your system moving smoothly between inspections.
Keep the track area free from dust, dirt, paper, and other objects that may obstruct the movement of the mobile units.
Store files and materials within the appropriate capacity of your shelving. Distribute the load properly instead of concentrating excessive weight in one area.
Turn the mechanical handle smoothly. Avoid forcing or aggressively turning the mechanism when the unit is difficult to move.
Before closing or moving the units, make sure no person, object, box, or file is blocking the aisle.
If you notice resistance, misalignment, unusual sounds, or difficulty operating the system, stop using it and have it inspected.
Regular inspection can help identify wear, alignment concerns, or mechanical issues before they become more serious.
During servicing
Checking the track condition and identifying anything that may interfere with smooth movement.
Checking the moving components responsible for allowing each bay to travel along the track.
Inspecting the operating mechanism for proper movement and functionality.
Checking that the mobile units remain properly positioned and move correctly along the system.
